Born September 9th, 2006 in Germany, Étri Fournié began playing various instruments at a young age in an autodidactic manner (most of them were quickly dropped but nonetheless gave a young Étri early insight as to their ins and outs). At the age of 8, they started taking guitar lessons, around the same time when they began arranging. After entering middle school, they began playing the piano on their own for two years before taking lessons. Soon after, they earned the Cambridge Certificate with a level of C1 in English. Regularly during late middle school, they gave private French lessons for struggling students as part of an initiative called “Schüler helfen Schüler” by the Bavarian government. At the age of 16, they started taking music theory and composition lessons with Eric Domenech. The same year, they wrote a scientific memoir about various influences on absolute pitch and worked on preparing a hip-hop party. In 2024, they graduated from high school, earning both the French baccalauréat and the German Abitur, passing a final exam in music.
They’ve been admitted into the University of Perpignan Via Domitia, and are now following a double bachelor, where they will receive a degree in musicology, a diploma in audiovisuals from the conservatory and a diploma in electroacoustic music. Over the course of their bachelor, they’ve attended numerous masterclasses from renowned artists such as Sylvain Morizet, Franck Vigroux, Roger Cochini or Yutaka Sado. They notably worked on collaborative projects where they sang as a choir member for Carmen and worked together with film directors and live orchestras. In 2025, they worked as a choir member at the Vocal Jazz Seminar assisted by Greg Jasperse, and in Daniel Tosi’s interpretation of Carmina Burana. They currently work with their peers for a collaborative representation of La La Land as an arranger for the renowned score.
