Armageddon

Overview

Étri's first major completed work for orchestra, Armageddon is a dark, unyielding powerhouse with middle-eastern influences. It's a short 4½-minute piece for symphonic orchestra, completed in late 2025, with assistance by Eric Domenech.

The music is nearly always driven by a relentless irregular pulsation in 7/4 time signature, usually in the low brass. In favour of the rhythm, any and all harmony is frequently abandoned in favour of empowering the ostinato.
